Quinteto Maxixe

I play the bass guitar in the  Brazilian Choro ensemble 'Quinteto Maxixe'. After twelve years of not playing bass it feels like coming home.

Further line-up is violin, tenor sax, accordeon and pandeiru (percussion).

The Brazilian choro started around 150 years ago in Rio de Janeiro. Walses and polkas from the European dance music melted with African rhythms, brought to Brazil by the slaves, and with other local music influences.
